Parker Emmons

School of Choice Scholarship - Recipient of $1,500

Parker Emmons says he likes “using my hands to fix stuff.”

So he’s going to use his Lane Electric $1,500 School of Choice Scholarship to attend WyoTech, a trade school in Laramie, Wyoming. The school offers nine-month training sessions with specialized programs in automotive, collision and refinishing, diesel and welding.

The recent Churchill High School graduate has some mechanical experience from working on his own pickup truck and helping friends with their vehicles.

“I’m going to WyoTech because the program there is very good,” Parker says. “I had a family member go there and it worked for him.”

Parker says he would eventually like to own his own mechanic shop.

“I’m 100% excited and ready to go,” he says. “I think I’ll like it out there (Laramie).

“This scholarship will help me a lot in my journey to become a mechanic,” he adds. “Thank you.”
