Kali Williams

School of Choice Scholarship - Recipient of $3,000

Remembering how helpful her kindergarten teacher was when she was that age, Kali Williams now has a goal of becoming a teacher for those children.

“My kindergarten teacher had a big impact on my life and now I want to do the same thing and help kids,” says Kali who will use her Lane Electric Cooperative $3,000 School of Choice Scholarship at Western Oregon University in Monmouth.

The recent Oakridge High School graduate solidified her thoughts on becoming a teacher by helping in pre-K and kindergarten classes the last two school years.

“I learned you can impact a lot of people’s lives in simple ways with acts of kindness that they’ll remember for the rest of their lives,” Kali says. “I want to do that.”

Kali plans to major in early elementary education at Western Oregon.

“I’ve been waiting to graduate and start something new and fresh, to learn new things in order to help kids,” she says.

Kali says she is appreciative of the scholarship from Lane Electric.

“It helps more than you’ll ever know,” she says. “It’s going to help me help the generation I teach.”
