Abe Craig

School of Choice Scholarship - Recipient of $3,000

Two discovery airplane flights at the Creswell airport are turning out to be a major influence on Abe Craig’s future.

“I made those flights when I was 16 and I knew immediately this would be the career that I would pursue,” says the recent Pleasant Hill High School graduate whose goal is to become a commercial airlines pilot.

Abe is a recipient of one of Lane Electric’s $3,000 School of Choice Scholarships. He’ll use it to attend Utah State University in Logan, Utah.

“Utah State has an aviation program that is the best one closest to me,” Abe says of his college choice. “It’s a four-year program. I know there is a goal there that I can achieve. I know I can be successful.”

At Pleasant Hill High, Abe was involved in FFA, baseball and National Honor Society. His FFA projects during each of his four high school years were market steers. He also had a miniature Hereford cattle breeding project for three years. That project earned Abe recognition as a youth producer of the year from the Lane County Livestock Association.

Abe says he’s thankful to Lane Electric for the scholarship help.

“This is an amazing opportunity and I want to ensure Lane Electric that I’ll use that money to help pursue my career and dreams,” Abe says. “Thanks for having us as a member and providing us with power.”
