In spring 2024, Lane Electric Cooperative began a multiyear project to upgrade system infrastructure and electric meters throughout our service area. The new devices replace outdated technology, leading to more reliable service, resilient communities, and efficient operations.

We’re happy to report we are on track to be halfway through installations by year’s end, with a completion date of 2026.

Upcoming areas for installations include:

  • Eugene
  • Oakridge
  • McKenzie
  • Dorena
  • Mosby Creek
  • Culp Creek

We will notify members before work begins in their areas.

Before meter swaps are completed, you may see crews in your area installing meter relays. These devices receive and retransmit information to equipment on Lane Electric’s network, creating a grid that provides more pathways for communication across our system.

The new infrastructure makes getting meter readings from homes and reporting outages quicker and more dependable.
