Meet General Manager Scott Coe

I want to introduce myself as the general manager of Lane Electric Cooperative (LEC). I thank the board of directors for the opportunity to serve our member-owners and lead this very impressive staff.
While I am new to the cooperative, I am not new to the area. I was the Emerald Public Utility District (EPUD) General Manager for 9 years, until I retired in 2022. I found retirement not to my liking. I missed the sense of accomplishment from being part of an organization. When Debi Wilson announced her retirement, I started looking into the opportunity.
While at EPUD, I got to know LEC and the service territory. In 2020, our Emerald crews provided assistance to LEC up the McKenzie River after the fires. I was also there several times as general manager, supporting their efforts.
Over the years, I attended at least 1 cooperative meeting a year. I have always loved the sense of community that cooperative utilities enjoy, and the annual meetings certainly highlight that connection.
As a lifelong Oregonian, this part of the state is important to me. When I was a kid, we spent many summer vacations tent camping up and down the McKenzie River. None of that cushy RV living for our family. My sister-in-law was born in Oakridge, where her father was the district ranger.
It’s a wonderful honor to be part of this organization and serve an area that holds importance to me.
