Candidate Statement
My factory-worker father, a former member of a Michigan school board, was my inspiration for public service, Having always been a grateful supporter of Lane Electric Coop and, with 22 years service on the Crow-Applegate-Lorane school board, I feel well prepared to serve on the Lane Electric board. My UO science research involves using electromagnetism to better understand the Earth, so my technical background complements that of other board members.
Lane Electric, and coops in general, face some tough challenges. The electrification of cars and home heating/cooling are beneficial but, adding in data centers, electricity demand in the Pacific Northwest is projected to double by 2046.
Hopefully, much of this increased demand will be met using renewable sources such as solar and wind. However, we currently lack affordable, large-scale energy storage, so these sources are only available when the sun shines or the wind blows. I consider myself to be a problem solver, and ask for your support and help in addressing these challenges while keeping electricity affordable and always available.
Please watch for your ballot in the mail and remember to vote.

Candidate Statement:
I have been a member of Lane Electric since 1988, at the completion of building my first home. Over the years, I have had the opportunity to work with Lane Electric staff as a general contractor installing new power infrastructure or during my service to Lane County, representing constituent needs throughout the East Lane County District.
For the past 4 years, I’ve had the great pleasure of serving on Lane Electric’s scholarship committee. I have been incredibly impressed with Lane Electric’s service of excellence. Their professionalism extends to their members, the support of youth, and their involvement within the communities they serve. It would be an honor to serve on the Lane Electric board of directors, representing the Row River District.
I ask for your vote and support to serve you and all Lane Electric’s members.
